Engadget Site Update

Holy crap. I’ve been reading Engadget for around two years now and I’ve actually been thinking lately that they should update their website.

Well, they have. Finally.

Overall, I love the new layout. They obviously couldn’t change everything, being a heavily trafficked blog and everything, but what they did change is great.

They’ve added nice little jquery accordions on the lower portion of the sidebar to display their sister sites. Works flawlessly and saves a ton of space on an otherwise very busy site.

I’m loving the new Engadget branches at the top right of the new design. They give easy access to all versions, if you will, of the Engadget family.

Honestly, though, my favorite update is the footer. Geez I was getting sick of having the footer take up 40% of the freakin’ window. It’s much slicker looking now and takes up a lot less space.

Even better: Less perceived adspace. Neat!

New Business Cards

The new Pixelsplendor business cards came in a few days ago from JakPrints. I’m not completely happy with them, due to a white hairline near the top of every card caused by the color not bleeding off the top edge. I don’t know whether this was my fault or Jak’s, but it’s probably not noticeable to the average person anyway…
